Caregiver -- Thousand Oaks Saturday and Sunday Mornings 7 am to 10 am

Introduction:

Family Ties Home Care has an opening for a client in Thousand Oaks. She is 88 years old with mild dementia.  She has "happy" dementia.  Most often, she is smiling, laughing, and enjoying life.  She lives in an assisted living home, and the family likes her having extra assistance in the mornings and evenings.  The shift will consist of helping her get ready for the day.     She walks with a walker.  Stand-by ADL assistance.       

The pay rate is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour plus applicable overtime.

Must have Caregiving experience, a Driver's license, and a Car.

Responsibilities:

• Following a pre-set care plan
• Standard ADLs (personal care, bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene assistance)
• Assist with medication reminders
• Monitor and report on client's well-being
• Light housekeeping, laundry, & other household daily chores as needed
• Grocery shopping & errands
• Cooking/meal preparation
• Scheduling appointments, including doctor's
• Communication with Family Ties HC management & family members/loved-ones regarding the client's daily status
• Daily notes
• Other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications:

• Current HCA or higher certification
• Caregiving experience of 1 year or similar experience
• Compassionate and caring demeanor
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow the pre-set care plan and medication schedule
• Ability to lift 35 pounds
• Ability to assist with client's mobility as needed
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work the schedule as described
