Position Overview
We’re seeking a committed, professional QMHP or QMHP-T to join our In-School Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) team. This is a highly structured, school-based role that requires serious, reliable individuals who can manage expectations, build rapport with students, and follow school guidelines with excellence.
As a TDT QMHP, you will work inside the school daily, providing therapeutic support to students who struggle with behaviors that impact learning. Your role is to help students stay regulated, learn coping skills, and remain engaged in the classroom.

Who You’ll Work With

You are the bridge between FSI and the school system—representing our agency with professionalism at all times.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Your primary responsibility is to provide daily, in-school therapeutic support to your assigned student(s), helping them regulate emotions, remain in class, and meet their Individualized Service Goals.
You will:
- Provide 1:1 or small group therapeutic support inside the classroom and throughout the school day.
- Implement behavioral and emotional regulation strategies aligned with each student’s service plan.
- Support students during transitions, classroom activities, specials, lunch, and dismissal.
- Maintain professional communication with teachers, administrators, and school staff.
- Document student progress, behaviors, and interventions daily in compliance with Medicaid and school requirements.
- Participate in student meetings, staff meetings, and supervision sessions.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians regarding progress and concerns.
- Assist with crisis intervention when needed, following school and agency protocols.
- Model positive, calm, and respectful interactions at all times.
- Promote classroom engagement and reduce behaviors that interrupt learning.
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and consistency in all interactions.

Required Qualifications

- Must be registered or eligible to register as a QMHP or QMHP-T in Virginia
- At least 1 year of experience working with children
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Ability to follow structure and work within school expectations
- Reliable transportation
- Availability for full school-day hours (roughly 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM, depending on school)
