POSITION: Caseworker, Family Reunification/Family Preservation Services
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Family Preservation Services
PAY RATE: $15.50 per hour
JOB TYPE: Full time
LOCATION: Erie County
$2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS**$500 at 90 days, $500 at 180 days and $1,000 at 1 year
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Family Preservation/Family Reunification Services Caseworker works intensively with children and families in their own homes. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Travel throughout Erie County required.
JOB DUTIES:
- Employs a variety of casework techniques and modalities to meet family needs.
- Interviews, assesses, and provides services to assigned clients in their homes on a regular basis.
- Provides therapeutic skill building to the Office of Children & Youth client families involved in Family Reunification.
- Provides therapeutic services during visits between children and their families in order to increase their attachments toward reinteegration to the family unit, when possible.
- Maintains case records in a timely manner as required in agency policy.
- Performs on-call duties for crisis situations after hours on a rotating basis to provide support to families.
- Participates in staff development activities, including individual and peer supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma, GED, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with families, children, or teens (experience volunteering or working in a support role within a community setting is highly valued).
- A combination of education and experience equal to a minimum of 4 years preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver’s License and dependable transportation.
