What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caseworker, Foster Care Program position at Family Services of NW PA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The foster care caseworker provides direct service to foster care clients in the Permanency Department. Worker is required to visit client's homes on a regular basis.
JOB DUTIES:
- Screens potential foster families and supervises foster care placements in client's home.
- Completes family profiles for individuals and couples interested in foster care.
- Performs on-call duties for crisis situations after hours on a rotating basis to provide support to children and families.
- Maintains case records and reports in a timely manner as required in agency policy.
- Participates in staff development activities, including individual and peer supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences required.
- Knowledge of foster care laws preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
