Position Overview:
As a Family Caseworker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting families affected by allegations of abuse or neglect. Your responsibilities will include providing in-home services, facilitating supervised visitation, and offering case management assistance to help families build self-sufficiency and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for families and provide support through teaching, demonstrating, and monitoring new skills.
- Ensure timely completion of required paperwork and reports with meticulous attention to detail.
- Deliver high-quality, culturally competent in-home services focused on improving family dynamics and promoting children's well-being.
- Conduct home visits, supervised visitation sessions, and transportation as needed.
- Collaborate with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) and participate in case planning and team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university, OR
- High School Diploma, GED, or Associate Degree with at least 4 years of full-time experience in direct casework services to children and families, including providing support to families in need of assistance with child protection and care.
- Valid Driver’s License, access to a vehicle for business use, and adequate insurance coverage.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Commitment to ongoing continuing education.
- Strong understanding of family dynamics and child development.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of community resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
