Job Title: Domestic Violence Services Specialist (Advocate)

• Status: Non-Exempt

Join our team as a Domestic Violence - Residential Advocate, where you will be a critical part of our mission to support families in crisis. We are currently hiring for both full-time - third shift (midnight to 8am) positions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate the telephone system, including crisis lines, while following all policies and procedures.
• Document all phone calls and case notes in Client Track at the end of your shift.
• Complete daily paperwork, including client intakes and exits, and assist clients during their difficult times.
• Conduct shift change handovers and maintain awareness of residents' locations and pertinent information.
• Provide transportation for clients to essential appointments.
• Attend staff meetings, work as a team player, and maintain professional relationships with families in residence.

Qualifications:

• Education / Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum of two years in social work, education, and/or domestic violence experience.
• Skills / Abilities: Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Ability to work autonomously, handle stressful situations, and demonstrate emotional maturity and good judgment.
• Training Requirements: First Aid, Infant/Adult CPR, and Universal Precautions (to be obtained within the first three months of employment).
• Other Qualifications: Valid Driver's License, access to a car for full-time business use, and compliance with State of Indiana minimum insurance coverage. Must pass background checks and TB test.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Extended periods of sitting.
• Standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, and climbing stairs.
