Role
To perform necessary accounting and record functions of the credit union.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Verifies, allocates, and posts details of transactions to the general ledger such as overdrafts, ACH items, stop-payments, On-Us, FED returns, payroll deductions, and un-posted items, etc.
- Answers incoming phone calls to the accounting/records department and provides members as well as Credit Union employees with information and direction regarding accounts.
- Performs supporting administrative tasks.
- Reconciles and balances assigned general ledger accounts.
- Makes appropriate entries for incoming and outgoing Fed Funds and Wire Transfers.
- Monitor remote deposit capture deposits for proper holds and possible fraudulent activity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Intermediate PC knowledge with basic Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Up to one year of similar or related experience
- Familiar with operation of 10-key calculator
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills while using a pleasant tone and common conversational courtesies
- Good interpersonal skills to include being courteous, diplomatic, and tactful
- Previous experience within accounting environment at a financial institution, including knowledge of regulations and laws
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to multitask when necessary
Expectations
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
