Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive environment. This role involves working closely with individuals in a Group Home setting.
Responsibilities
A Direct Support Professional has the important duty of, but not limited to:
- Documenting and Reporting all incidents and concerns directly to Supervisor
- Following the policies and procedures of the home
- Engaging in the care, training, and rehabilitation of the individuals of the home
- Providing basic nursing care, personal care, and hygiene care
- Administering medication as prescribed for the individuals of the home
- Document daily progress of individuals
- Have the ability to accompany the individuals of the home to any medical, dental, psychiatric appointments, and required social outings
- Have the ability to assist and prepare meals daily; with general housekeeping duties
- Assist and encourage the individuals to have appropriate communication, social skills, and behavior development
- Willingness to participate with professional staff in the design and implementation of training and programmatic activities
- Ability to observe the rights and personal dignity of others
Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED (Required) and two years of experience working with population (not mandatory)
- Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record history and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass criminal/background checks; along with a Tuberculosis (TB) test
- Ability to pass and maintain CPR/First Aid, Medicaid Waiver Certification, and Direct Support Professionals Core Competencies
- Ability to meet physical demands of position

Hours
Monday-Friday: 3PM-9PM (more hours may be offered but are not mandatory)

$16.50 per hour
