Qualifications

• Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in crisis counseling, counseling, therapy, social work, or psychology (Human Services Field) or a license in counseling, psychology, or Social Work.
• Education Preferred: Master’s Degree in a related field.
• Experience Required: Any relevant experience in the related field.
• Experience Preferred: 3 Years of experience working in the human services field with survivor services experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required. Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.
  
  

Position Specifics

• Typically reflecting a 32-hour work week.
• Position Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility for evenings, weekends, on-call duties, and meeting client needs.
• Full-time position.
• Nonexempt hourly position at $34.06 per hour (estimated at $56,675.84)
• Comprehensive benefits are offered.
• Service Area: Rock Island, Mercer, and Henry Counties
• Location: Moline, IL.

Position Details

The Child Counselor - Illinois Sexual Abuse will provide comprehensive sexual abuse services to all survivors of sexual abuse in the identified service area. This position will provide client-centered, trauma-informed, age-appropriate, culturally-sensitive, in-person counseling and therapy to support clients in the recovery process in Rock Island, Henry, and Mercer counties in Illinois. This position will utilize a variety of intervention techniques in order to assist the client in meeting his or her goals of counseling. In addition, this position will provide outreach, awareness, and training to the communities in the areas served to ensure survivors have access to services. This position will provide in-person and over-the-phone crisis intervention and advocacy as needed. This position requires reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. This position participates in the on-call rotation, providing 24-hour in-person crisis response to survivors as requested. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor - Illinois Sexual Abuse. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.
