Who are you?

You are a caring and dedicated professional who has obtained a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or closely related field. You possess a LSW or LPC license or higher. You will have previous experience working in the criminal justice program, experience working with substance abuse clients is highly beneficial. You will have a strong knowledge of models and theories of addiction and other problems related to substance abuse and have the ability to describe the philosophy and practice of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention and continuing care for addiction and other substance-related problems.

You will have the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification; clear Criminal Background Check, obtain an Ohio driver’s license, maintain auto insurance, and fingerprinting required. You must meet the minimum required level of auto insurance per carrier guidelines, as the position is required to transport clients in your personal vehicle as needed. You are able to regularly use various computer applications requiring multiple logins, including those for communicating internally and externally, including Microsoft Office, as well as our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, often simultaneously.

How you’ll make a difference in this role:

This position is dedicated to serving individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system. You will oversee mental health and substance abuse services provided to this special population and will work in conjunction with the criminal justice clinical team to efficiently stream line each criminal justice and mental health program, while also ensuring that each program is operating within evidence-based practices. You will be responsible for program planning, implementation, training, monitoring, advocacy, staff supervision, and liaison to criminal justice entities.

You will work closely with the Prosecutor’s Office, Hancock County Justice Center, Sheriff’s Office, Findlay City Police Department, Findlay Municipal Court/Probation, Common Pleas Court/Probation, Probate Court, Juvenile Court, and Hancock County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services to monitor and coordinate the delivery of necessary evaluations of each criminal justice and behavioral health program.

  • You will oversee for the administrative supervision of of assigned staff and participate in the selection, hiring, and orientation of program staff.
  • Maintain accurate and complete data on all criminal justice grants received and report data to the Hancock County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services.
  • Continuously update the Sequential Intercept Map to accurately portray established programs and represent the measurements that show if it is an effective program.
  • Assess community needs and develop appropriate programs/interventions to address service gaps; address any concerns with the programs implemented and resolve any issues mentioned.
  • Conduct case reviews, engage in program planning/evaluation, and communicate administrative issues through participation in departmental and quality improvement meetings.
  • Communicate with the Finance Director to ensure that the criminal justice programs are meeting financial and productivity objectives. This includes applying for and managing grants when appropriate.
  • Represent FRC at community forums that address criminal justice issues such as the Re-Entry Coalition, CIT Training and Community Corrections Board, etc.
  • Maintain the expenses for the Addiction Treatment Program (ATP), WRAP/983 funds, and Peer Support Grant.
  • Maintain contact with Technical Assistance through the COAP/LEAD Grant and Peer Recovery Support Services Mentoring Initiative.
  • Carry a small caseload of clients to stay close to the needs of the customer.
