What are the responsibilities and job description for the KANSAS Licensed Child Mental Health Therapist position at Family Psychological Services, LLC?
We are seeking a Kansas-licensed psychologist (temp or full-time) with LMLP, LMSW, or LPC credentials for a full-time private practice in a thriving small business environment. This position is ideal for a therapist with experience working with middle-aged children and younger individuals, or someone interested in this as a primary area of practice and open to learning. While play therapist certification or experience is preferred, the therapist must also approach cases from a family therapy perspective or be willing to learn to do so. We are looking for a solid, confident clinician who works well within a team model, with a preference for high-quality, new staff interested in learning our model. We promote a positive, drama-free environment and expect all new employees to share and uphold this value.
We are also interested in applications from LCPs, LSCSWs, and LCPCs. However, we are not considering part-time employment, although we are flexible for those transitioning from other jobs over six months. This is not a position for someone seeking a hobby or retirement practice, or interested in job sharing or part-time work.
We currently have 13 staff members on site in Lawrence, Kansas, including two APRNs who provide medication management for ages 5 and up. Our practice specializes in children, teens, adults, families, and college students. We offer advanced integrative treatment for ADHD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, divorce and custody, marital, and sex therapy. We are particularly interested in therapists who have a genuine interest and skill in working with boys and young men.
This is not a private contractor arrangement. It is a dynamic, W-2 group practice based on three pillars: financial viability, ethical integrity and risk management, and clinical efficacy. You will gain from and contribute to a real team. We use a private practice commission model, offering a percentage of earned revenue. We have several packages to help you transition into your new role.
Given the population we are hiring to be served, we are looking for a therapist who can provide a fair number of hours after 3pm. The more after school times available, the faster we can build your practice.
