The mission of Family Promise of Orange County (FPOC) is to help families experiencing homelessness achieve housing stability. We HELP, we give HOPE, and we bring families HOME! We provide a pathway of support to empower families to avoid homelessness or to exit homelessness as quickly as possible. We work to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring for families with children.
Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator Position
Reports to Client Engagement Supervisor
Pay Range: $28-35 per hour
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Client Engagement Supervisor, the Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible
for leading community outreach activities, fostering and enhancing community partnerships, and elevating the visibility of FPOC throughout Orange County. The Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will also handle a direct client caseload to support families in FPOC’s Prevention, Family Supportive Services, and Stabilization Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
● Identify, schedule, and staff community outreach opportunities in targeted communities, coalition meetings, and community fairs.
● Network with other community-based organizations and college/university campuses to schedule and deliver presentations about FPOC and resources for families in Orange County.
● Support the creation of an annual calendar of all critical community events where FPOC’s presence is warranted.
● With the support of the Client Engagement Supervisor, develop a database of community contacts, including community leaders, influencers, and activists who work with targeted communities.
● Establish collaborative relationships with community members and supporters of our mission.
● Establish FPOC’s consistent presence in the community as a family housing and service provider by attending community meetings, collaborative convenings, neighborhood events, etc.
● Serve as a community liaison to assist in client outreach, build broad awareness of FPOC’s services, link families to vital community resources, and pursue new partnership opportunities.
● Represent FPOC at public events and participate as needed in advocacy activities.
● Communicate with other FPOC staff, interns and volunteers regarding community events, networking and outreach opportunities, neighborhood updates, and other timely issues.
● Provide data analysis and feedback to the Client Engagement Supervisor and Director of Programs.
● Develop and manage a monthly calendar of outreach events that volunteers can participate in and coordinate volunteer engagement in outreach, networking and advocacy events.
● Maintain an active client case load of at least 10-12 families, delivering case management, housing navigation, and stabilization services to struggling families.
