Position Summary: The Housing Stability Coach supports the administration of the IHCDA Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) grant, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and overall program effectiveness. This role contributes to grant management, client advocacy, case management, and program reporting. In addition, the position supports the Center for Working Families program by providing employment, financial, and educational coaching to clients. Under the supervision of the PSH Housing Director, the Housing Stability Coach plays a critical role in helping individuals secure and sustain stable housing while strengthening their income and employment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Support & Administration
- Assist in the administration of the assigned IHCDA housing grant and Center for Working Families Grant, ensuring adherence to grant guidelines and Family Promise policies.
- Support PSH Director in distributing funds to eligible clients accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized records of grant activities, expenditures, and outcomes.
- Participate in webinars, office hours, and training sessions.
Client Advocacy & Case Management Support
- Assist in providing case management services to clients, ensuring individualized support.
- Help develop and update housing plans with clients, identifying barriers and connecting them to resources.
- Support advocacy efforts with landlords, housing providers, and community organizations.
- Monitor and track client progress, adjusting services as necessary to promote stability.
Financial Coaching & Goal Planning (Center for Working Families Model)
- Work with clients to set and achieve goals related to income, employment, and financial stability.
- Provide coaching on budgeting, credit building, and debt reduction.
- Support clients in increasing income through employment or benefits access.
- Utilize a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to empower client decision-making.
Program Monitoring & Reporting
- Assist in tracking and evaluating program outcomes to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Support the preparation and submission of reports for Family Promise leadership.
- Identify challenges in service delivery and collaborate on solutions to improve program effectiveness.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with the staff to align with organizational goals.
- Help build and maintain relationships with community partners, landlords, and housing providers.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Experience in social services, case management, or housing advocacy preferred.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Attention to detail with paperwork and strong math skills; experience with rent calculators is a plus.
