Family Promise of Greater Phoenix is an emergency shelter for homeless families in the metro Phoenix area. Through an interfaith network of congregations, the organization provides food and overnight lodging for homeless families. Family Promise uniquely offers shelter that also welcomes pets with the families. We strive to provide a supportive environment to help families in crisis move towards stability and independence.
Job Qualifications:
The Client Services Specialist will have experience in working with families and children in a setting offering direct services. This position will provide services to families to improve their lives which includes an evaluation of the client’s needs and arranging assistance programs, such as daycare, food programs and affordable housing and job resources. We would like candidates to have experience working in rule enforcement and with individuals in crisis or trauma.
This position is a full-time salary position with benefits package. Occasional night or weekend work may be required.
Education/Certifications:
High School diploma required.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
Experience: Must have a minimum of one-year experience in working in office setting or related work environment.

· Respect for cultural differences including the ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
· Experience and comfort in diverse communities.
· Experience in community outreach.
· Highly experienced with technology used for communications, resources, and program delivery. Proficient with Microsoft Office and experience with cloud-based client database systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Highly skilled in prioritizing tasks, handling multiple assignments, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining strict attention to detail.
· Maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to strict confidentiality of sensitive information
· Receptive and responsive to coaching, supervision, and feedback; works well in team setting.
· Assists in managing congregational communications to the Host Coordinators, including but not limited to any family changes.
· Available for transportation of guests to and from nightly shelter, at congregations, if requested by Site Director.
· Facilitates, with the direction of the Director of the Site Director, the screening process of families, conducts baseline and follow-up assessments.
· Maintain timely and through intake case records.
· Available for families to assist with personal needs and supply families with work and family related transportation solutions.
· Maintain adequate supply of resources in Family Center for families.
· Must be physically able to perform all job duties which may include bending, lifting, and kneeling.
· All other duties as assigned.
Job Summary:
- The Client Services Specialist must possess great interpersonal and communication skills. This role requires patience, poise through adversity, a controlled temperament and great attention to reporting detail and the ability to enforce safety and shelter rules. Requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work well with staff and clients, maintain confidentiality, multi-task and problem solve effectively. Bilingual is a plus.
