Residential Services & Facilities Coordinator

Family Promise of Forsyth County is seeking a compassionate, organized, and practical Residential Services & Facilities Coordinator to support families participating in our Residential Services program while helping ensure our facility remains safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.

This is a blended role. The heart of the position is providing Stability Coaching to families in Residential Services and helping manage the daily flow of the residential program. The role also includes whole-facility oversight, including safety, supplies, maintenance coordination, and readiness of shared spaces.

Position Summary

The Residential Services & Facilities Coordinator provides Stability Coaching to families participating in Family Promise of Forsyth County’s Residential Services. This position walks alongside parents as they work toward housing stability, employment, income growth, transportation, childcare, financial stability, family well-being, and long-term independence.

In addition to direct family support, this role helps coordinate the daily flow of Residential Services, including host-site communication, volunteer needs, residential schedules, supplies, transitions, and documentation. The position also oversees facility readiness, safety, maintenance coordination, and repair follow-up so families, staff, volunteers, and visitors experience a safe, dignified, and welcoming environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesStability Coaching & Family Support

  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with families participating in Residential Services.
  • Provide individualized Stability Coaching that supports each family’s goals, strengths, choices, and dignity.
  • Walk alongside parents as they work toward safe housing, employment, income growth, transportation, childcare, financial stability, and other goals.
  • Help families identify barriers, create action steps, celebrate progress, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Connect families with appropriate community resources, services, and referrals.
  • Support families through challenges with calm, respectful, strengths-based communication.
  • Coordinate with the Community Based Services and Family Experience Manager to ensure families experience consistent support across Family Promise services.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation related to family goals, progress, needs, and program participation.

Residential Services Coordination

  • Help manage the day-to-day flow of Residential Services.
  • Assist with family transitions into, through, and out of Residential Services.
  • Coordinate residential schedules, family needs, host-site communication, and program logistics.
  • Support communication among families, staff, host congregations, and volunteers.
  • Help ensure families understand expectations, available supports, schedules, and next steps.
  • Identify practical needs that may affect family stability, comfort, safety, or progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, family updates, and planning conversations as needed.

Facility Oversight & Readiness

  • Help ensure Family Promise facilities are clean, safe, organized, stocked, and welcoming.
  • Oversee facility readiness for families, staff, volunteers, visitors, meetings, and programs.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance needs, repairs, safety concerns, and follow-up.
  • Monitor supplies, inventory, storage areas, and shared spaces.
  • Work with staff, volunteers, vendors, and the Care & Repair Crew to address facility needs.
  • Support safety procedures, readiness checks, and facility-related documentation.
  • Communicate facility concerns quickly and professionally to the appropriate staff.

Volunteer, Host, and Team Collaboration

  • Work with host congregations and volunteers connected to Residential Services.
  • Communicate residential needs, schedules, and expectations clearly and respectfully.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure volunteers are prepared and supported.
  • Help identify volunteer needs related to Residential Services and facility projects.
  • Represent Family Promise with professionalism, warmth, and respect.

QualificationsRequired

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage schedules, details, follow-up, documentation, supplies, and multiple moving pieces.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully with families experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or financial insecurity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Comfort with both family-facing support and hands-on practical tasks.
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected to a team.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to use shared calendars, checklists, databases, and communication tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Availability to work most Saturdays and at least one evening per week to support working parents and family schedules.

Experience

We value both lived experience and professional experience. Candidates may bring lived experience with housing instability, homelessness, financial hardship, or navigating community support systems and/or professional experience in human services, housing, nonprofit work, family support, coaching, congregational partnerships, volunteer coordination, facilities coordination, or program support.

Experience working with families, children, volunteers, or community partners is helpful. Familiarity with trauma-informed, strengths-based, or dignity-centered service approaches is also helpful. Bilingual ability is a plus.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility, including availability most Saturdays and at least one evening per week in order to support working parents. Additional evening or weekend hours may occasionally be needed based on family needs, host congregation schedules, Residential Services transitions, volunteer needs, and facility concerns.

Work Environment

Work may take place in office, residential, community, host congregation, and facility settings. This position may include walking, lifting light supplies, organizing spaces, responding to facility needs, and supporting families and volunteers in a variety of settings.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.50 per hour
