Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Research and write grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and submission progress
- Network with local businesses, faith communities, and civic groups to identify new supporters and in-kind donors
- Cultivate relationships with sponsors, donors, and volunteers through personalized outreach and stewardship
- Assist with donor communications, including thank-you letters, newsletters, and impact reports
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to exceed financial goals for each event and campaign
Event Planning & Execution
- Support all aspects of 4 annual events (virtual and in-person), including galas, community runs, golf invitational, online auction and educational workshops
- Source venues and virtual platforms; research vendors and negotiate contracts
- Build event web pages aligned with Family Promise branding and mission
- Participate in webinars and demos to understand event technology and tools
- Coordinate committee meetings, take minutes, and maintain event timelines and budgets
- Manage outreach mailings: organize contact lists, draft letters, perform mail merges, and track responses
- Collect and track sponsor logos, journal ads, guest names, and auction donations
- Draft auction descriptions, coordinate deliveries, and manage displays
- Support event participants with fundraising tools, incentives, and outreach strategies
- Create new and exciting ways to raise money to support our mission
Database & Financial Management
- Maintain donor and event data; update contacts and track engagement
- Create registration pages, email blasts, newsletters and donation forms
- Track event financials, incoming donations (credit card and check), and expenses
- Generate invoices, receipts, and financial reports as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.
- 1–3 years’ experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit development
- Social media marketing; experience with social media and digital outreach
- Digital Ad creation (CANVA)
- Strong technical skills; comfortable learning new platforms and managing virtual tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Creative thinker with a passion for mission-driven work
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends during event seasons
- Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
