Role Description The Junior Accountant role at Family Powersports is a full-time, on-site position located in San Angelo, TX. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, including, but not limited to, recording journal entries, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and maintaining the general ledger. The Junior Accountant will support daily, monthly, and year-end activities, ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. Day-to-day tasks include processing accounts payable and receivable, managing invoicing and payment tracking, and assisting with other accounting as needed. The role also involves collaborating with management to provide financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and responding to vendor and customer accounting inquiries.
Qualifications
- Strong general accounting skills, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections in a retail or similar environment.
- High Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of basic tax principles, sales tax, and compliance with standard accounting practices (GAAP preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to interpret financial data and support decision-making.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to work on-site in San Angelo, TX, and collaborate with cross-functional retail and service teams.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Prior experience in retail, automotive, or power sports industries is a plus.
