The Front Desk Patient Services Representative is responsible for greeting, checking-in and assisting patients in the office. Must have previous experience working in a medical office and the ability to handle difficult situations while maintaining a professional demeanor. Front desk responsibilities include:
· Patient registration and check-in
· Scheduling appointments
· Insurance eligibility verification and knowledge of medical insurance (HMO/PPO)
· Collecting patient co-pays
· Answering multi-line telephones
· Maintaining patient privacy and knowledge of HIPPA requirements
· Handling requests for medical records
· Recording patient information in the electronic medical records (E H R)
system
