We are a full-service small animal clinic located in West Branch, Iowa. Our licensed veterinarians manage routine medical, surgical, and dental care for cats and dogs. Beyond first-rate pet care, we make our clinic comfortable, kid-friendly, and calm. Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Position: Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in routine examinations and medical procedures
• Perform laboratory tests such as bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology and fecal analysis.
• Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in electronic health records systems.
• Educate clients on pet care, medication administration, and treatment plans.
• Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures with care and compassion.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging such as X-rays and ultrasounds.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, the clinic and surgical suite.
• Provide support and assistance to veterinary staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience not required (will train on the job)
• Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate and gentle handling of animals.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn veterinary software systems.
• Flexibility to work weekends.
• Physical ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes and species.
• Responsible, punctual, respectful, detail oriented, team player, self-starter
• Ability to arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 am
• Ability to work 2 Saturdays a month

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
