Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Position Overview

Family Outreach is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities in clinic, home, and community-based settings.

Under the direction of a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), the RBT implements individualized treatment plans designed to build communication, social, daily living, and other functional skills while reducing behaviors that may interfere with learning and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, one-on-one ABA services following treatment plans developed by an LBA.

• Implement evidence-based teaching, skill acquisition, and behavior-reduction strategies.

• Collect, record, and graph client data to measure progress toward treatment goals.

• Accurately document client sessions, progress, and relevant observations.

• Support clients in developing communication, social, play, self-help, and other functional skills.

• Assist clients in practicing and generalizing skills across clinic, home, and community environments.

• Communicate client progress, concerns, and significant changes to the LBA and ABA team.

• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other team members as directed.

• Maintain confidential, accurate, and secure client records.

• Participate in required training, supervision, team meetings, and professional development.

• Maintain required RBT competencies, certification, and agency training requirements.

• Provide coverage and assist with other program responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

• Ability to follow written treatment plans and clinical direction.

• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work directly with individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities in a variety of settings.

Reports to: Compliance Specialists and Licensed Behavior Analysts

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB or ability to obtain certification within 2 months of hire.

• Not yet RBT certified? Family Outreach will provide support and assistance to help you complete the RBT certification process.

• Valid Montana driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 1 month of hire.

• Access to a reliable vehicle.

• Ability to successfully complete required background checks.

Work Environment

This position provides direct services in clinic, home, and community settings and requires regular travel between service locations.

RBTs work directly with clients and must be comfortable responding calmly and professionally to a variety of behaviors, which may include hitting, biting, screaming, or other challenging behaviors.

The position may involve standing, sitting, moving with clients, light lifting, and other physical activities associated with providing direct client support. Some schedule flexibility may be required based on client and program needs.

Salary : $16 - $20
