Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry clinic. You will assist with various tasks that ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience, from the front desk to clinical duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and optical procedures, along with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes at the front desk.
- Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Assist optometrists during examinations by preparing instruments and ensuring the examination room is organized.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Crystal.
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Provide support in scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries effectively.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or work experience is preferred
- Familiarity with optical terminology and procedures is a plus.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to eye care is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems like Crystal can enhance your application.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members are essential.
