Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals for the PRN - Group Home position. This role involves providing essential support and care to residents in a group home setting, focusing on enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and a strong understanding of personal care needs.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor vital signs.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed.
- Prepare meals that meet dietary requirements and assist with meal planning.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment, including light housekeeping duties.
- Document resident care and progress using EMR systems accurately.
- Support residents in mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Drive residents to appointments or community activities as required.
Skills
- First aid certification is preferred.
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care practices.
- Strong understanding of caregiving principles and practices for individuals with disabilities.
- Proficient in medication administration and monitoring vital signs.
- Experience in home & community care or personal care homes is a plus.
- Ability to manage behaviors effectively while providing direct support to residents.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and team members. Qualifications
Must have a High School diploma or GED or completion of Competency test.
Pass a Criminal Background check. Misconduct check, and Fraud check.
Must have a valid driver's license
Prefer to have CPR certification
Some experience with working with those who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities and behaviors preferred.
Candidates should possess experience in caregiving or related fields, particularly in settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes. Preferred qualifications include:
- PAY: $11-$11.50 an hour
