Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Due to our small office size, staff and providers work closely together.
Duties
- Checking patients in and out with kindness.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Answering phone calls of all natures, ranging from scheduling and refill requests to relaying messages to one of our providers.
- Assisting providers with patient care, procedures, clerical work and some insurance tasks.
- Phlebotomy and obtaining specimens, such as urine and throat cultures, etc.
- Processing specimens for testing, both in-house and external laboratories.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medical facility, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Performing office procedures such as EKGs and checking blood pressures and all necessary vitals.
- Relaying test results to patients over the phone.
- Obtaining prior authorizations for certain procedures based on patients' insurance requirements.
- Ensure Patient confidentiality.
