What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Family Medicine of Carthage, PC?
- Our office is seeking a reliable, compassionate individual with a positive attitude that can multitask, is able to adapt to various situations, that wants to become an integral part of our team.
- Must possess professional & courteous interpersonal skills, be able to check patients in/out, process payments, schedule appointments, convey orders between providers & patients, assist with referrals to specialists, manage a multi-line phone system; answering & directing calls & messages in an efficient & friendly manner.
- Must obtain & update our patient's personal & insurance information to maintain accurate chart details necessary for treatment, referrals, authorizations & billing processes.
- Must have computer skills, EHR & EMR knowledge, be able to navigate insurance portals, utilize secure email, integrated faxing, upload & redirect electronic medical records accurately to our providers & the patient charts.
- Must be understanding of the needs of our patients & willing to make accommodations accordingly to ensure that they receive the best possible treatment in a timely manner .
- Must protect our patient's confidentiality; strict compliance to the rules & regulations following all HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of coding, billing & medical terminology is a huge plus however, it is not a requirement.
As one of the Medical Receptionists, you will one of the first points of contact for our office. This is an important role; you will be providing essential administrative support necessary to maintain exceptional patient service. Your core responsibilities will include various standard receptionist duties, while ensuring HIPAA compliancy when handling our patient's protected health information.
