What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Family Medicine Clinic?
A growing family practice clinic seeks a full time medical assistant.
What is your role: (includes but not limited to)
- Check-In patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients’ chart
- Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or Nurse Practitioner
- Perform EKGs when needed
- Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
- Administer vaccines when needed
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed in patient's medical records prior to their appointment
- Keep exam rooms sanitized and prepare it for patients.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and maintain instruments
- Take telephone messages and acknowledge/follow-up with patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and Nurse Practitioner
- Electronically ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed
- Perform any other tasks as instructed by the Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Office manager
