Clinical Leadership & Supervision
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to licensed and provisionally licensed clinicians, interns, and/or volunteer facilitators.
- Support clinicians in case conceptualization, grief-informed treatment planning, documentation, and ethical decision-making.
- Ensure services adhere to professional standards, licensure regulations, and organizational policies.
- Model effective, compassionate grief counseling practices.
- Leads and/or participates in weekly clinical team or whole staff meetings.
- Open to EMDR training, and eventual supervision of staff providing EMDR.
- Available for up to 2 evenings a week and very occasional weekend hours for groups and retreats as agreed upon.
Direct Clinical Services
- Maintain an active caseload providing assessment, individual, family, and/or group grief counseling and case management.
- Deliver developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed interventions for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
Program & Service Oversight
- Support oversight of grief counseling programs, support groups, and related services.
- Monitor quality, consistency, and effectiveness of services.
- Collaborate with leadership on program development, evaluation, budget, staff/volunteer training, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with outcome tracking, reporting, and grant-related documentation as needed.
Staff Development & Team Support
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of clinical staff and interns.
- Participate in performance evaluations, goal setting, and professional development planning.
- Foster a collaborative, reflective, and supportive team culture that prioritizes staff well-being.
Community Engagement
- Build relationships with referral sources, schools, mental healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Serve as a clinical resource and representative of Heartlinks Grief Center.
- Support community education and outreach related to grief, loss, and bereavement.
- Education- Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Fully licensed in Illinois (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or equivalent) required at time of hire. Licensed in Missouri, a plus with MO licensure needed post hire, if candidate does not have.
- Experience providing clinical supervision, leadership, or mentoring preferred
The Clinical Services Supervisor provides clinical leadership, supervision, and direct clinical services within Heartlinks Grief Center. This role balances hands-on client care with clinical supervision and program oversight, ensuring high-quality, ethical, and evidence-informed grief support. The supervisor fosters staff development, supports clinical excellence, and ensures services align with Heartlinks’ mission and values.
This position carries a moderate clinical caseload in addition to supervisory responsibilities.
This position is full-time (40 hours) with benefits.
The position requires regular evening work seeing clients and facilitating grief support groups one to two evenings each week. As travel is necessary for the requirements of the position, the individual selected is expected to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Physical demands of the position are typically those of a standard office environment but also include working from non-office locations.
