Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Social Worker to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' social, emotional, and environmental needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute distress or challenging life situations.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower patients in their care journey.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans that address both medical and psychosocial factors.
- Advocate for patients by connecting them with community resources, support services, and financial assistance programs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
Experience
- A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, with a focus on clinical counseling or social work.
- Proficiency in applied behavior analysis and diagnostic evaluation is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and techniques for individual group counseling is highly desirable.
