Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and administrative support, with experience in various medical settings including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our patients while ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and coding standards (ICD coding)
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly
- Prepare patients for X-rays and other diagnostic tests as needed
- Support outpatient and inpatient care, including assisting in the operating room (OR) when required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care in various specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical setting such as clinics, hospitals, or urgent care facilities is preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques is essential
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks including appointment scheduling and insurance verification
- Experience with Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus
- Strong understanding of patient care protocols and best practices in medical-surgical environments
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
