What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN OR Circulator (PRN) position at Family Health West?
1.
Direct and supervise patient care in the operating room ensuring proper practices and techniques are used. Monitors standards of care to ensure excellent care is provided.
2.
Confirm room, supplies and equipment are prepared for procedure.
3.
Ensure sterile and safe environment by maintaining aseptic techniques.
4.
Attend and assist surgeon as necessary in the operative procedure.
5.
Perform appropriate treatment directed by the surgeon in an accurate and timely manner.
6.
Instrumental in developing the nursing interventions and individualized care plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
7.
Conduct ongoing assessment of patient’s condition by observing current conditions and reactions, noting abnormalities and reporting them immediately to the physician.
8.
Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
9.
Develop patient/family post-operative instruction based on the patient’s individualized needs of the patient and as directed by the surgeon.
10.
Ensure discharge planning is commenced at the point of admission in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
11.
Protect confidentiality surrounding patient admission and treatment at all times.
12.
Assist in administrative duties including documenting, maintaining records and collecting data for statistics.
13.
Assist in scheduling procedures.
14.
Assist in developing procedures, policies and guidelines.
15.
Other job related duties as assigned.
