What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Residential Unit Support Specialist position at Family Health Psychiatric and Counseling Center?
The Mental Health Support Specialist performs job duties on an independent basis, subject to periodic direction, evaluation, and review. An employee in this class conducts new admissions and orientation with a welcoming approach which involves the ability to recognize and understand mental illness and substance abuse diagnoses and typical behaviors. A Mental Health Support Specialist coaches and supports consumers in stabilizing, including providing activities to assist with health stabilizing, intervening with consumer conflict, applying NAPPI skills, and assuring safety for consumers in threatening situations. An employee in this class performs facility/ safety duties as assigned by a supervisor including monitoring rooms, food and facility safety and cleaning issues and corrects or reports problems as needed and performs related work activities as assigned. Preferred bachelor's degree in the mental health field. CTRS are encouraged to apply.
