What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Office Assistant position at FAMILY HEALTH CENTERS INC?
Gather appropriate information, i.e. vital signs, current medication, BMI, weight, height, record and convey pertinent information to the provider. Inquire and document all OTC medications, supplements and alternative therapies for patients.
Obtain and document smoking status for all patients >13 years of age.
Prepare patients for various treatments and diagnostic procedures.
Administer/arrange for various diagnostic tests and treatments as instructed by provider.
Obtain specimens for laboratory analysis. Perform tests as appropriate.
Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records and others records of service rendered.
Make and track all appointments and/ or referrals, including community resources as directed by the provider.
Follow correct procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous waste material.
Comply with all applicable infection control and safety procedures
Participate in daily team pre-visit planning (ie, huddles).
Exhibit compliance with FHC’s corporate compliance policy.
Ensure patient has visit summary documents.
Perform job activities in ways that are respectful, courteous and responsive while interacting with patients, visitors and co-workers.
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated.
