JOB SUMMARY

The Manager – Alcohol and Drug Recovery (ADR) provides leadership and oversight of ADR staff, operations, resources, and quality improvement initiatives across multiple ADR sites and care modalities, ensuring the delivery of effective, coordinated, and patient-centered services. The Manager serves as a liaison among patients, staff, providers, and administration to promote collaboration and continuity of care. In addition to monitoring the performance of the ADR service line, the Manager leads and supports continuous improvement efforts to deliver high-quality, inclusive, equitable, culturally and linguistically appropriate care in a cost-effective manner.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborates with the Director of Substance Abuse Services to ensure programs operate in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership, supervision, and accountability for a diverse team while demonstrating cultural awareness and a commitment to serving at-risk and underserved populations.
  • Recruits, develops, and retains a highly trained and knowledgeable team capable of delivering high-quality services. Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to support staff growth and success.
  • Partners with the Director of Substance Use Services to establish program goals, develop and implement strategic initiatives, monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and drive continuous operational improvement.
  • Establishes and standardizes workflows, policies, and best practices across multiple ADR sites and care modalities to promote operational consistency, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and a high-quality patient experience.
  • Monitors patient satisfaction and experience metrics, identifies opportunities for improvement, and implements action plans to enhance the quality of care and overall patient experience.
  • Responds to and assists in resolving patient and family concerns related to care, billing, or service by facilitating timely, effective communication and appropriate follow-up.
  • Fosters a collaborative, team-oriented environment by promoting communication, engagement, and shared problem-solving to address operational and clinical challenges.
  • Collaborates with Business Systems, Billing, and other internal departments to review reimbursement processes, coding practices, and billing updates to support regulatory compliance and achievement of financial objectives.
  • Leads regular staff meetings and communicates organizational initiatives, program updates, project timelines, operational changes, and system enhancements to ensure staff remain informed and engaged.
  • Assists in the development and management of departmental budgets, monitors expenditures, and maintains appropriate fiscal controls to support the financial performance of the service line.
  • Oversees staffing schedules and resource allocation to ensure appropriate coverage, operational efficiency, and continuity of patient care.
  • Supports the effective implementation and utilization of software systems by coordinating training, participating in system testing, troubleshooting issues, and identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Maintains strict adherence to scheduled work hours with regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Five years of healthcare management experience with an associate’s degree (in business, healthcare administration, or behavioral sciences) or preferred three years of healthcare management experience with a bachelor’s degree (in business, healthcare administration, or behavioral sciences).
  • Additional healthcare management experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.


CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire, or within three-months of employment.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), per FHC guidelines.
