Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, including preparing patients and ensuring their comfort.
• Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
• Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic wound care under supervision.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring precise documentation of patient information and medical histories.
• Support medical office operations through appointment scheduling, patient intake, and insurance verification.
• Maintain medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and ensure clinical areas adhere to safety standards.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging or basic laboratory tests when required.
• Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries, explaining procedures clearly, and fostering a welcoming environment.

Experience

• Prior experience working in medical offices or clinical settings with exposure to dermatology, internal medicine, or urgent care environments preferred.
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation practices is essential.
• Knowledge of pharmacology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medical terminology is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture (phlebotomy), medication administration, and vital signs collection.
• Experience working in hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous for this role.
• Inpatient experience or familiarity with emergency medicine protocols enhances the ability to respond effectively to urgent situations.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; additional certifications such as X-ray or advanced phlebotomy are a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
