Position Overview: As a Medical Assistant at Family Health Care, you will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers and ensuring the efficient operation of our clinic. Your responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, assisting with administrative tasks, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting medical history
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection
- Prepare and maintain patient records and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up care as needed
- Assist with administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program is preferred
- Certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team
