What are the responsibilities and job description for the Houseparent (Afternoon) position at Family Haven?
Family Haven is a local non-profit whose focus is the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. We are looking for staff in our Crisis Respite Nursery to care for children newborn to age 11. The purpose of the nursery is to provide a safe, home-like environment where kids get to play and leave any outside stress at the door. Many of these children come from situations that put them at risk of abuse or neglect, and our goal is to provide an environment for them to be with healthy adult role-models while their parents take care of whatever difficult situation they are dealing with.
Responsibilities
Provide for the basic needs of children in the nursery including preparing and serving meals, basic cleaning, supervising volunteers, basic record keeping, as well as bathing children and changing their diapers as necessary.
Requirements
1. 18 years or older
2. Have at least 6 months of experience working with children (professional or personal)
3. Pass a criminal background check (administered by employer)
4. CPR/First Aid Certified and have a Food Handlers Permit (employer will help obtain both)
We are currently looking for someone who can work in the afternoons, Monday-Friday from 1pm-6pm.
