The Health Aide's primary function is to assist the Health Coordinator or Site Director with health and nutrition-related duties.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains and updates health schedules and records on health/nutrition information in individual student health records. Prepares reports if needed.
- Maintain and monitor health supplies, diabetes/ first aid kits and related materials.
- Follow-up on health care referrals by health care providers and assist families in accessing needed services.
- Maintain site lists of significant health/nutrition conditions and children receiving medication.
- Download and update file health information in funders systems.
- Discreetly handles (while adhering to confidentiality standards regarding children’s records) sensitive information about children and families.
- Administer medication as prescribed to children.
- Participate in bi-weekly supervision with direct supervisor. Attend department staff meetings, all-staff (agency) meetings, and grantee meetings. In addition, attend pre- and in-service training/conference sessions as scheduled.
- Participate and support with parent meetings.
The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of CPR and First Aide techniques, Health and safety regulations.
- Minimum of one to two years of experience working with children.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with administration, staff, consultants, regulators, and funders in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge about COPA and ChildPlus system. Preferred
Hourly range: $19.60/hr.
Schedule: M-F 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
