What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Family First Dental Care?
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Dental Assistant for a temp-to-hire position at our Capitol Heights office. Candidates with a valid Maryland dental license and X-Ray certification are preferred. However, if you hold an X-Ray certification but do not yet have your Dental Assisting license, we are willing to cover the costs for you to obtain it.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays as required
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during examinations and treatments
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop and implement community outreach programs
- Actively participate in community events and initiatives to promote oral health awareness
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset by identifying opportunities for program growth and improvement
Requirements:
-Maryland Dental Assisting license preferred but not required
-Experience working in a Medicaid office is preferred
- Strong passion for serving underserved communities and improving oral health outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proficiency in dental software and digital imaging systems
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and dental office procedures

$24-$28/ hr for X Ray certified professionals
