The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in driving profitable growth at Family Farm and
Home by delivering data-driven insights across inventory, supply chain, and merchandising
functions. This role partners closely with Product Merchants, Replenishment, Finance, and
Operations to optimize inventory performance, improve in-stock positions, and enhance overall
financial results.
This position is ideal for a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fastpaced
retail environment and is motivated to influence key business decisions through data and
insight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Include but are not limited to:
Inventory & Forecasting
Manage forecasting and replenishment processes using Relex to achieve inventory and
in-stock targets.
Oversee purchase order management across assigned categories, vendors, and
planograms (POGs).
Ensure compliance with Open-to-Buy (OTB) strategies.
Financial & Performance Analysis
Analyze departmental performance versus budget, forecast, and prior year results.
Identify key trends, risks, and opportunities to improve sales, margin, and inventory
productivity.
Evaluate seasonal performance and recommend strategies (including markdowns) to
achieve sell-through goals.
Cost Optimization & Supply Chain Efficiency
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across supply chain processes and
vendor partnerships.
Optimize order strategies, case packs, and freight to reduce inbound, handling, and
storage costs.
Balance inventory levels (safety stock, order frequency) to minimize excess and carrying
costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Merchandising, Finance, and Operations to drive business performance
improvements.
Support planogram (POG) processes by ensuring item accuracy and execution timelines.
Work with merchants to identify underperforming items and category opportunities.
Vendor & Product Management
Provide vendors with forecasts for new, existing, and seasonal products.
Analyze vendor performance to identify profitability opportunities.
Support strategic initiatives including special buys, promotions, and assortment
optimization.
Tools, Reporting & Store Support
Develop and maintain analytical tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.
Ensure inventory readiness for key promotions, advertising events, and store displays.
Support stores with inventory-related requests to enhance customer experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent
experience).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into
actionable insights.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Business Suite and experience with
data systems and databases.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to operate with limited supervision
