Summary:
The Business Systems Specialist acts as a critical link between technical systems and the broader business to solve complex problems and support daily operations. This role combines business analysis techniques, focusing on eliciting and validating business needs while ensuring system data integrity. The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the critical data flow and connection between ERP systems, PIM platforms, and EDI partners, ensuring project deliverables meet documented business requirements and architectural standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Include but are not limited to:
- Promote Family Farm & Home mission statement and family values.
- Provides system support, serving as a key functional point of contact for the Planning and PIM systems, ensuring configurations align with business objectives.
- Supports and troubleshoots system data integrations to ensure seamless communication between platforms.
- Facilitates process design sessions and interviews stakeholders to gather requirements, perform workflow analysis, and define business processes.
- Actively supports development projects by documenting use cases and production definitions, and performing quality control on system enhancements.
- Provides ongoing support for daily operations, identifying trends and patterns to make recommendations for immediate business actions.
- Uses business systems tools to monitor performance and establishes scorecards to ensure company goals are being met.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Business Systems Specialist Requirements:
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong functional analysis skills, including the ability to gather, analyze, and validate business needs. A systems-thinking mindset is essential, with the ability to understand data flow across multiple platforms and troubleshoot data discrepancies or integration issues between systems. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users. Strong organizational skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and daily support tasks in a fast-paced environment. A foundational understanding of relational databases and data structures is necessary. The role is suited for individuals who work well both independently and collaboratively.
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Information Science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in Business Systems Analysis or Business Intelligence will also be considered. Experience or familiarity with key systems is highly desirable, including Epicor Eagle (ERP), Relex Space and Plan (supply chain), Akeneo (PIM), SPS Commerce (EDI), Magento (eCommerce), MySQL and Google Workspace (database/reporting), and Jira (process management).
