We are looking for a dependable, friendly, and customer-focused Sales Associate / Cashier to join our convenience store team. This position is specifically for opening shifts, which requires someone responsible, punctual, and able to manage early morning tasks — including working with vendors and ensuring the store is ready for the day.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Cashier Duties:
- Greet all customers with a friendly and helpful attitude
- Accurately handle all transactions using the POS system
- Assist customers with purchases, questions, and product locations
- Promote sales by upselling or suggesting additional items when appropriate
Stocking & Store Maintenance:
- Restock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed throughout the shift
- Monitor inventory and report low stock or out-of-stock items
- Ensure all product areas are neat, organized, and fully stocked
- Change garbage bags promptly when full and maintain clean trash areas
Cleaning & Upkeep:
- Sweep and mop floors regularly to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Wipe down counters, shelves, and customer areas throughout the shift
- Maintain clean and sanitary bathrooms
- Take initiative to keep the entire store clean and presentable at all times
Coffee & Beverage Station:
- Monitor the coffee station regularly
- Brew fresh coffee every 30 minutes to ensure quality and availability
- Keep the area clean, well-stocked, and inviting for customers
Opening Responsibilities & Vendor Handling:
- Arrive on time and open the store promptly
- Check in with vendors making deliveries
- Ensure all vendors properly stock their items and do not leave any product unstored
- Confirm product counts and verify invoices as needed
- Make sure the store is fully ready for business before opening to customers
Other Duties:
- Follow all safety and security procedures
- Assist in opening and closing duties as assigned
- Perform other tasks as needed by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus (training provided)
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
