Optician

Job Summary

Experienced Optician needed for well established high end optical. The position is full time and requires excellent people skills and knowledge of the latest ophthalmic lenses and eyewear. This is not an ordinary Optometry office. We provide high end products to our patients along with over the top customer service. We have two doctors that provide excellent eye care and have a 25 year history of patient loyalty. We just moved into our brand new state of the art free standing 4000 sq ft facility. We carry exclusive frame lines and always provide cutting edge products.

This position requires at least 5 yrs experience as an optician and the successful candidate must be very comfortable in the Optical and in the Lab. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE. You do not need to be licensed, however, you must be great with people and have a welcoming and outgoing personality. Duties

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
• Accurately fit and adjust eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure proper vision correction and comfort.
• Maintain knowledge of current optical trends, products, and technologies to provide informed recommendations to patients.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as lens edging, tinting, and repairs as needed.
• Manage medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations while maintaining accurate patient information.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists on patient care plans and follow-up appointments as necessary.
• Utilize retail management skills to maintain inventory levels, manage stock, and assist with medical billing processes.
• Ensure a clean and organized clinic environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an optical setting or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision is essential.
• Familiarity with medical billing procedures is a plus.
• Strong retail management skills including retail math proficiency are desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Attention to detail is crucial for accurate fittings and adjustments of eyewear products.
