Job Description:
As an Optometric Technician, you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of patients in an optometric clinic. You will be responsible for the processing of vision tests, including reading and interpreting eye charts, and assisting with other patient services. You will also be responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation for all services provided by the clinic. Be able to preform testing on patients, (such as: OCT, Visual Field, Retinal Photography)
Responsibilities:
- Perform eye exams and assist patients with prescribed eyewear
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all services provided by the clinic
- Perform contact lens testing and assist patients with proper care
- Maintain contact lens inventory inventory and order supplies when needed
- Assist with other patient services as needed
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures in place at Pueblo, CO
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, supply rooms, and office areas
- Participate in staff meetings as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Skills:
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to work under pressure and with a high level of accuracy, and have excellent communication skills.
- Must possess a professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Must possess basic computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Word preferred. Experience with an EMR system preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and management.
- Ability to perform general office duties such as filing, copying, faxing, scanning etc.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
