We are seeking a friendly and licensed Optometrist to join our esteemed healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting comprehensive eye exams, and prescribing medications as needed. The Optometrist will work closely with our patients to provide high quality eye care.
**Duties:**
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including visual acuity, refraction, and eye health assessments.
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, including common vision problems, cataracts, and conjunctivitis.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, or other corrective devices as necessary.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health records systems like Epic.
- Stay current with the latest developments in ophthalmology and maintain anatomy and physiology knowledge.
- Apply knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information.
- Utilize aseptic technique to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including billing, insurance claims, and medical coding.
- Provide exceptional patient care, addressing concerns and educating patients on eye health and treatment options.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
**Requirements:**
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or equivalent.
- Active licensure to practice optometry in the state where the position is located.
- Proficiency in medical coding and familiarity with electronic health records systems like Epic.
- Strong anatomy and physiology knowledge, as well as an understanding of ophthalmology principles.
- Experience with patient care and sales techniques.
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and adhering to the highest standards of patient confidentiality and security.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
