Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care and support to individuals in home care or long-term care settings.
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer first aid as needed and respond promptly to any medical emergencies.
- Lift and transfer patients safely using appropriate techniques to prevent injury.
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress while adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Engage with residents or clients socially to promote emotional well-being and enhance their quality of life.
Skills
- Strong understanding of ADLs and caregiving practices in home care or assisted living environments.
- Ability to lift patients safely and provide physical support as needed.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards patient care.
- Experience in long-term care settings or retirement homes is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with meal preparation for individuals with dietary restrictions is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records and documentation.
