PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Clinical Assistant to provide exceptional support to our dentists and dental hygienists in a dental practice or clinic. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of dental procedures and delivering high-quality patient care. The Dental Clinical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our practice.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist or dental hygienist during dental procedures ensuring patient care and procedural efficiency.
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and materials for use during procedures, adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Set up dental trays with the necessary instruments and materials for each procedure, ensuring readiness and organization.
  • Take patient histories and update medical records accurately, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date patient information.
  • Prepare and maintain dental equipment and treatment rooms, ensuring a clean and functional workspace.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes.
  • Provide post-operative instructions to patients after dental procedures, ensuring they understand and comply with care recommendations.
  • Order and maintain dental supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring availability and proper stock levels.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records, optimizing patient flow and clinic operations.
  • Provide administrative support, such as answering phones, filing paperwork, and managing patient inquiries, contributing to the overall efficiency of the practice.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Degree in dental assisting, showcasing a commitment to professional development.
  • Proven experience working in a dental office, demonstrating familiarity with dental procedures and patient care.
  • Sound knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and materials.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software, ensuring efficient data entry and record management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear and professional interactions with patients and staff.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills, contributing to a positive patient experience and satisfaction.
  • Good manual dexterity, enabling precise and efficient handling of dental instruments and materials.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, maintaining a calm and reassuring demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with dental software and scheduling systems.
  • Additional certifications or training in dental assisting.
