Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of dental procedures including dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and endodontics with precision and care
- Assess patient needs through thorough patient assessments and medical/dental history reviews, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate treatment options and instructions clearly to patients
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards
- Operate dental imaging equipment safely to obtain high-quality radiographs while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols
- Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and other practice management software to streamline workflow
Qualifications
- Valid dental license with eligibility to practice as a Dental Associate in the respective jurisdiction, NYS
- Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, and dental fabrication preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical imaging techniques
- Proficiency in using dental office software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and thoroughly
- Ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, and other complex procedures confidently
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and upholding the highest standards of infection control and aseptic technique
