We are looking for a compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our Covington dental team for one or two consistent days each week.
Our practice believes hygienists should be respected as clinical professionals, given appropriate time with patients, and supported by the doctor and team. We value thoughtful periodontal care, patient education, accurate documentation, and long term patient relationships.
You will join a team known for relationship based care and strong clinical collaboration.
Position Details
- Part-time position
- 1–2 days per week
- 8:00-5:00 Lunch 1-2
- appointment length are typically 60 min
Your Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide preventive and periodontal dental hygiene care
- Perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing as clinically indicated and authorized
- Complete periodontal assessments and required documentation
- Take digital radiographs according to practice protocols and clinical need
- Educate patients about oral health, periodontal conditions, and home care
- Recognize, document, and communicate clinical findings for dentist evaluation and diagnosis
- Maintain complete and accurate clinical records
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control standards
- Collaborate with the dentist and team to provide a respectful patient experience
Additional Responsibilities in Our Small Practice
- Assist with keeping the hygiene area clean, organized, and well stocked
- Clean and disinfect treatment rooms between patients
- Maintain and organize hygiene supplies and instruments
- Empty trash and assist with general office cleanliness
- Communicate with the front office regarding patient needs and scheduling
What We Are Looking For
- Current Virginia dental hygiene license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Compassionate and professional chairside manner
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Careful documentation and attention to detail
- Reliability and respect for patients and coworkers
- Interest in continued clinical learning
