Family Dental Center – Bear is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Part-Time Dental Assistant to join our clinical team.
We are looking for a skilled Dental Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, productive dental environment and understands the importance of excellent clinical support, efficiency, teamwork, and exceptional patient care.
This position is best suited for an experienced Dental Assistant who is confident working independently, understands four-handed dentistry, and is comfortable assisting with a variety of general, restorative, endodontic, and implant procedures.

- Two Saturdays per month
Candidates must have reliable availability for this schedule. Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance are essential for this position.
Clinical Responsibilities
The Dental Assistant will work directly with our providers and clinical team and should be experienced with:
- Four-handed dentistry
- Crown and bridge procedures
- Root canal therapy (RCT)
- Implant procedures
- Restorative dentistry
- Composite restorations
- Crown preparations and deliveries
- Digital impressions
- iTero scanning
- Digital X-rays
- Intraoral imaging
- Proper isolation and suction techniques
- Preparing materials and instruments for procedures
- Operatory setup and breakdown
- Sterilization and infection control
- Maintaining properly stocked operatories
- Reviewing the clinical schedule in advance and preparing for upcoming procedures
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Providing patients with appropriate post-operative instructions
- Supporting efficient patient flow throughout the clinical day
Fast-Paced Clinical Environment
Family Dental Center is looking for a Dental Assistant who is comfortable working in a busy and fast-paced practice.
The ideal candidate understands how to anticipate the provider's needs rather than waiting for direction throughout each procedure.
You should be able to review the day's schedule, understand the procedures being performed, prepare the appropriate instruments and materials, maintain organized operatories, and help keep the clinical schedule running efficiently.
Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- Previous professional dental assisting experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced dental practice
- Strong four-handed dentistry skills
- Experience assisting with crown and bridge procedures
- Experience assisting with RCT procedures
- Experience assisting with implant procedures
- Experience taking digital X-rays
- Current Delaware X-ray/radiology certification as required
- Strong understanding of sterilization and infection-control protocols
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and patient-service skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team
iTero scanning experience is strongly preferred.
Dentrix Ascend experience is a plus.
Monthly Production Bonus
This position is eligible to participate in our monthly production bonus program.
We believe every team member contributes to the success of the practice. Eligible employees have an opportunity to earn additional monthly compensation when established practice production goals are achieved, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of the bonus program.
Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience, clinical skill level, certifications, and overall qualifications.
Candidates with strong experience in four-handed dentistry, crown and bridge, root canals, implants, digital dentistry, iTero scanning, and Dentrix Ascend may be considered at a higher compensation level.
