Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Single column scheduling OR assisted hygiene - then salary negotiable
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using modern EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments
- Review and update medical records accurately, ensuring documentation review aligns with medical coding standards
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or office setting, with familiarity using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology
- Experience working with pediatric patients (pediatrics) is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting during various procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical records management to ensure patient confidentiality and accurate documentation
- Prior experience in infection control practices and aseptic technique within a dental environment is essential
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing compassionate care while maintaining professionalism
