What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Associate position at Family Crisis Center?
Overview
This position is responsible for the general upkeep, preventative maintenance and repairs of the Center’s various facilities. Facilities include the emergency shelter, transitional housing complex, direct service and administrative office, and the thrift store. This position helps ensure that agency facilities provide safe, well maintained, sanitary, and welcoming environments for clients, staff, volunteers, customers and other guests. This position is expected to use good judgment and make independent decisions in carrying out assigned duties. The employee will assess situations, propose solutions, and make recommendations to the Operations Director or Executive Director for final review and direction.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance jobs at the Center’s various facilities.
- Remove brush and pick up trash in parking areas, along fence lines and the common areas of the emergency shelter and transitional housing complex.
- Clean apartments, including appliances, floors, bathroom/kitchen fixtures and general areas when vacated.
- Paint the apartments as needed and prepare them for occupancy after move outs.
- Repair sheet rock as needed, replace broken fixtures, install appliances, perform minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections to determine areas that need attention, preventative maintenance, or repairs.
- Other duties as required or dictated by agency needs.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 29 per week
